Step-by-Step Instructions
- 1
Sit on the floor with knees bent and feet flat (or elevated for more difficulty).
- 2
Lean back slightly to create a V-shape with your torso and thighs.
- 3
Clasp your hands together in front of your chest.
- 4
Rotate your torso to the right, then to the left — that's one rep.
- 5
Keep your core engaged and move with control.
- 6
For added difficulty, hold a dumbbell, medicine ball, or plate.
Common Mistakes
- ✗Moving only the arms instead of rotating the entire torso.
- ✗Rounding the lower back.
- ✗Going too fast and losing control.
- ✗Holding breath during the rotations.
Safety Tips
- ✓If you have lower back issues, keep feet on the ground.
- ✓Focus on the rotation coming from the obliques, not momentum.
- ✓Start with bodyweight before adding external load.
- ✓Keep your chest lifted throughout the movement.
